Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate mobile crane to lift, move or reposition loads safety and precisely.
- Listen and carryout instructions given from ground crew or helpers via radio communication or hand signals.
- Direct helpers to position outriggers and blocks properly to prevent capsizing during heavy load lifting.
- Inspect, rig, and ensure that rigging applications are configured in accordance with the load chart and manufacturer guidelines.
- Assess loads to determine their weight and compare it against lifting capacity to prevent risk of overload.
- Interact closely with customer for accurate movement if materials and equipment.
- Inspect, clean and perform operator level maintenance in crane mechanism and hoisting components in accordance with standards.
- Perform daily safety checks to ensure equipment is in safe operating condition.
- Arrange for periodic maintenance of vehicle/equipment or when vehicle/equipment malfunctions.
- Follow related safety regulations, contract requirements, company policies, and operating procedures.
- Provide report of work operations by completing relevant paperwork.
- Other ad-hoc assignments assigned by your superior from time to time.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Completion of High School or Secondary education.
- Possess a valid crane operator license issued by MOM
- Good knowledge of standard crane operation techniques and hand signals preferred.
- Ability to read, write and speak English in order to understand equipment load charts, prepare written orders, read safety instruction, etc.
- Class 5 driving license.
- At least 2 years’ experience working with lift trucks, overhead cranes and mobile cranes.
- Familiar with Singapore routes and PSA port procedures.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good driving records.
Working Conditions
- 5.5 Working days per week but may subject to O/T and working during weekends and holidays.
- Could expect to work in stuffy, noisy and dusty environment.
- Need to wear appropriate PPE when on duty.
